Help A Researcher Out: Survey on abuse of early career marine scientists

Help a Researcher Out!

Anna Osiecka, Katarzyna Brzeska (WSAiB, Poland), and Aleksandra Wróbel (Adam Mickiewicz University, Poland) need your input for a report on some of the less pleasant aspects early career marine scientists and conservationists face.

This survey is a part of report of the situation of early career marine scientists and conservationists. We want to understand the nature and extent of the hardships faced by these starting in our field, with a special focus on time and monetary investment in work and education. The aim of the report, which we will make publicly available, is to show clearly the most burning issues and help to solve them.

We hope to shed some light on the various forms of abuse experienced by young marine professionals, but all stories are valid, and we also ask people who have never faced any hardships to share their experiences.

We are mostly interested in the experiences of current students, PhD candidates and those who graduated within the last 5 years. There is no deadline, though we hope to close the questionnaire at the beginning of May.
