Blue-Cloud Hackathon: Marine data scientists & researchers wanted to decode the Ocean!

The Blue-Cloud project is looking for marine data scientists & researchers, ICT experts, innovators, students, and anyone who is passionate about the Ocean to come together in the Blue-Cloud Hackathon to find innovative ways of addressing key Ocean challenges.

This 3-day event will invite participants to test "Blue-Cloud": a new, Open Science platform for the marine domain offering a wealth of marine dataanalytical tools, and computing power to support collaborative research and solutions for a safe, healthy, productive and predictive Ocean. Participants will get a "sneak preview" of some of the data services and tools developed by Blue-Cloud's multidisciplinary teams and will be invited to find innovative ways of testing, applying or improving them, showcasing how they could be used to contribute to Understanding the Ocean, Feeding the World or Predicting Environmental Risks.

The hackathon will take place on February 7th, 8th & 9th, 2022 and has a prize pool of  €60,000. A 3-week Ideation Warm Up will be open to participants (January 17th - February 4th) who wish to learn more about Blue-Cloud ahead of the hackathon, offering a great program of optional live sessions and exploratory resources.
