Nortek

About Nortek

Nortek develops acoustic instruments used to measure water movement in oceans, rivers, and lakes. Its technology supports a wide range of applications, from ocean research and offshore energy to environmental monitoring and engineering.

Alongside instrument development, Nortek shares case studies highlighting how its technology is used in real-world research and operational contexts.

The challenge

Nortek’s instruments are used in technically complex environments, often as part of advanced scientific or engineering projects. Communicating this work required translating detailed methodologies and results into content that remained accurate, while being accessible to an informed but non-specialist audience.

The case studies also needed to strike a balance between showcasing the capabilities of the instruments and telling a credible, research-led story, often involving multiple stakeholders and approval processes.

What we delivered

Working as a content contributor, we developed case studies focused on how Nortek instruments are used in practice across different applications.

This included:

  • Writing case studies highlighting scientific and operational use of Nortek instruments

  • Conducting and synthesising interviews with researchers and practitioners

  • Translating technical methodologies and findings into clear, accessible narratives

  • Structuring articles to balance technical context with storytelling and application

  • Managing feedback and approval processes with interviewees to ensure accuracy and alignment

Outcomes

The work contributed to:

  • A set of case studies showcasing real-world applications of Nortek technology

  • Clear, accessible content for an informed, non-technical audience

  • Stronger links between instrument capabilities and their practical use in research and industry

  • Content suitable for use across Nortek’s website and external publications
