Crypto Coral Tribe - Leveraging the power of NFTs to protect the natural world
Words and images by Crypto Coral Tribe
The Crypto Coral Tribe is a creative hub looking to shake up sustainable investing by fusing blockchain technology with a passion for nature. We are a mindful team of environmentalists, art-lovers, and tech-enthusiasts looking to foster the wellbeing of our planet and selves.
The Crypto Coral Tribe (CCT) is an NFT project directing 50% of revenues to marine & wildlife conservation initiatives. Their goal is to form a creative hub leveraging art & tech to restore our natural world. To build this collaborative approach to giving, the team are creating a community Impact Fund with rewards & utility through which holders can drive real-world change.
The project’s first pledge is to plant 3,000 corals across 3 continents and they already have a network of coral NGOs in place to execute. The collection will launch in Q1 of 2022.
Coral Creatures with an indigenous and cyberpunk aesthetic
The collection is composed of 9,000 unique avatars crafted by leading SolarPunk artist J. Quiroz. One glance and you’ll know this is nothing close to another animal PFP collection. Each NFT depicts a coral creature infused with indigenous art and cyberpunk styles.
The motive behind an Indigenous art style was to portray a naturalness and revive the ideals of tribal societies; living in balance and close communion with our ecosystems.
The inspiration behind taking-on a Cyberpunk aesthetic comes from punk culture; being ready to challenge societal structures, embrace technology and represent a resurgence.
3,000 Corals across 3 continents
The CCT will plant 3,000 corals worldwide through their network of marine conservation partners. This includes Coral Guardian, Coral Triangle Center and Turks & Caicos Reef Fund. This network will allow the CCT to fund 4 initiatives to replenish coral reefs across Spain, Indonesia, and Turks & Caicos Islands.
Rewarding holders whilst doing good - a win-win
Not only will CCT holders own a slick piece of art whilst replenishing reefs, but they’ll also have access to a whole range of benefits whilst doing good.
Community Impact Fund
CCT Holders will decide how the Community Impact Fund, seeded with 50% of mint future revenues, will be deployed. To do this they will have access to an exclusive dashboard through which they can propose, vote & direct funds towards conservation initiatives.
1 CCT NFT = 1 Vote:
Holders will also receive rewards tied to the initiatives that gain successful funding, such as memberships, access passes, and 1/1 NFTs.
$AQUA – Staking & Utility Token:
CCT holders will also be able to stake their Crypto Coral for $AQUA, a deflationary utility token with a range of applications. $AQUA will play a key role in the CCT’s Gen2 collection, Impact Fund governance, and wider ecosystem.
To make things even more exciting, Crypto Corals which remain staked at the CCT Reef for an extended period of time will be entered into a raffle for a free trip to one of the very marine reservations the project helps restore.
SolarPunkademy
Education lies at the root of sustainability, that’s why CCT NFT holders will have exclusive access to the SolarPunkademy - an education platform providing training by experts in SolarPunk art, business & sustainability practices. Holders will have access to discounted learning resources, scheduled workshops, and AMAs exploring the merge of nature & technology.
IRL Meetups & Nature Retreats
While we all enjoy living our anon life in the metaverse, the CCT understands that many of its community love to spend time outdoors immersed in nature. To nurture this vibrant community they will host social immersions, reef tours, hackathons, wildlife retreats and more. The benefits such social experiences can bring are small but powerful; and ripple outwards.
