Tell us your story
“If you don’t tell your story, someone else will.”
I’d hedge my bets that this is not the first time you’ve seen that quote (original author unknown). Ususally, this quote comes with dire warnings:
Others will tell your story – and they will get things wrong
Others will tell your story – and they will deliberately warp the truth
Sure – that can happen, but for the most part somebody else telling your story isn’t the thing you should be most concerned about. Here’s what you should be:
“If you don’t tell your story, nobody else will.”
If nobody talks about you, nobody will know you exist
If nobody knows you exist, it doesn’t matter how innovative your solution is.
If nobody knows you exist, it doesn’t matter how important your message is.
If nobody knows you exist, it doesn’t matter how life-changing your idea could be.
Whether you’re a business, NGO, research institute, or other, you have to tell your story.
Not because you are afraid of how you might be represented by others, but because you are the only one who can start shining a spotlight on yourself.
Are you ready to tell your story?
